Foundations in Art is a unique program at Highland Oaks Elementary where students explore art history, creativity, and artistcs techiques through engaging, hands-on lessons. Throughout the school year, students learn about famous artists, art movements, and creative process while creating their own artwork using a variety of materials such as paint, paper, clay, and mixed media. The lessons are brought to life by our dedicated parent volunteers, known as Art Docents, who help inspire creativity and foster an appreciation for the arts in every classroom. The Foundations in Art was created by parents many years ago, and Highland Oaks is proud to contiue this special tradition. The program provides students with opportunities to develop artistic skills, express themselves creativity, and connect with artists and culture from around the world.
